Have you done 3D modeling before? I'm curious to know how other people approach it...I had such a hard time wrapping my brain around taking a ball and (digitally) sculpting it into something not...round (hence only making Bud's head instead of the whole flower).
You mean not everyone sees how you can cut up a sphere or box and make it into a car?! hahaha
No but really.. 3D took me a while to get. Jumping right into it is hard, esp if you go into a program like Blender which has a STEEP learning curve. It is nurbs based and much harder (imo) to something like Maya. The gigantic upside of learning Blender is it is free and you can still make amazing things with it!
3D sculpting is pretty fun... but for me, thats a details type program. If you dont get 3D space on a monitor, it it hard to get it done LOL
Spatial visualization has always been one of my weaker points. Even when using real-life materials, I struggle with building any sort of 3D object. It's probably why I'm also terrible with drawing in perspective :')
It looks better than any 3D model I've ever tried to make. XD

I've played around on modeling programs like Blender before, but I've never actually been able to figure it out enough to make anything. '^^
Blender is on my (long) list of programs to eventually learn how to use :D It's tough!
